10/31/05
According to police reports:
Police are still gathering information concerning a Friday crash that
left five Marysville teenage girls injured.
This morning Marysville police reported that four of the teens injured
have been released from medical care. One of the girls involved possibly
remains in medical care, although which one was not known.
The crash occurred at 11:03 a.m. on Friday, tying up east and westbound
traffic on U.S. 33. Many vehicle police diverted through downtown
Marysville.
According to police reports, driver Hannah Salmon, 16, of Marysville was
headed eastbound on U.S. 33, east of Route 31, At some point Salmon lost
control of the car and went off the left side of the road, striking a
berm. She then reportedly overcorrected the car and went off the right
side of the road. The vehicle struck a ditch and flipped end over end,
as it also rolled. Salmon was injured and transported by Marysville
medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County. She had four passengers,
many of which were ejected from the car during the crash.
Among the injured, Sarah Salmon, 16, of Marysville and a 15-year-old
Marysville female were injured and transported by MedFlight to Riverside
Methodist Hospital. Passengers Stephanie Boerger, 16, of Marysville and
Lindsay Castle, 16, of Marysville were transported by MedFlight to Grant
Medical Hospital.
Police reported that possible charges could be filed for failure to
control the vehicle.
Several people were arrested in a large fight Saturday night at 3:35
a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. When police arrived at the
scene, some 30 people were involved in what was described as a chaotic
fight. The focus was narrowed down to four suspects, all of which were
charged with disorderly conduct. Joseph Green, 28; Nicole Green, 24;
Jamie Green, 28, all of Richwood and Brian Cummings, 29, of Prospect
were cited.
A 2000 Honda Odyssey was reported stolen today from the 600 block of
Wagon Wheel lane.
Jerry Mershon, age not listed, of 925 W. Fifth St. was arrested at his
home Sunday at 4:37 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear in court.
Kyle Griffith, 27, of Raymond was charged with criminal trespassing
Sunday at 3:59 p.m. in the 200 block of Scottsfarm Boulevard.
Kristopher Dunn, 27, of 548 N. Main St. was arrested on a warrant for
failure to appear in court Sunday at 2:33 a.m. in the 200 block of East
Fifth Street.
A truck was broken into Saturday at around 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of
Coventry Way. A CD player was stolen from inside.
Kimberly Cline, 52, of 120 Mulberry St. was charged with letting her dog
run loose Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
Anthony McNew, 20, of 149 Cottonwood Lane was arrested on a warrant out
of Delaware County for burglary and theft. Police found him after they
were called to a domestic violence report on Hemlock Drive Saturday at
3:10 p.m.
Breaking and entering was reported after jewelry and a DVD player were
stolen from inside a residence in the 500 block of North Main Street
sometime between Oct. 9 and Saturday.
A golf ball reported struck the side of a home, in the 300 block of
Terrace Court Friday at 11 a.m. The ball damaged a window shutter.
A sexual offense report was made by the Union County MR/DD in the 1200
block of Charles Lane that occurred on Thursday. Reportedly a male under
their care made sexual comments to another male in their care. The
incident is under investigation.
License plates were stolen from a vehicle Wednesday night parked in the
100 block of Willow Drive.
According to sheriff's reports:
A residence in the 10000 block of Industrial Parkway was broken into
sometime between Oct. 16 and Thursday. Items stolen included $3,350 in
hand tools and electronics.
A tree stand, valued at $200, was stolen from a residence in the 24000
block of Lunda Road sometime between Oct. 23 and Thursday.
Deputies received a call about a possible drunk driver traveling slow
and erratic in the westbound lanes on U.S. 33 Friday at 4:20 a.m. While
deputies responded to the area, another citizen called to report the
same vehicle driving 35 mph in a 65 mph zone, still traveling
erratically. Officers searched for the vehicle, but were unable to
locate it. Then at 5:05 a.m. law enforcement received another call from
a resident in the 9200 block of Ketch Road, about a person driving a car
around his house, damaging the lawn. The homeowner was able to stop the
driver, with the help of a neighbor and they held the driver until help
arrived. Deputies arrived to find the suspected vehicle from earlier
that night and arrested Matthew R. Degraw, 23, of Dublin for operating a
vehicle intoxicated and criminal damaging.
A five-seat paddle boat was stolen from a residence in the 20000 block
of Orchard Road, sometime since Oct. 23.
The theft of prescription medication was reported stolen Friday night in
the 8700 block of Brock Road.
Deputies are investigating possible sexual contact, allegedly involving
a 14-year-old female and a 17-year-old male. The incident reportedly
occurred Saturday night in the 20000 block of Springdale Road and is
currently under investigation.
It was reported that Monday at 1 p.m. stolen property was recovered at a
business in the 20000 block of Northwest parkway. A U-Haul trailer in
the parking lot was listed as stolen, but had actually been rented out
again in error.
Mason Lee Pence, 59, of Bellefontaine was arrested for operating a
vehicle intoxicated and failure to stay within marked lanes after a
traffic stop on U.S. 36 at Watkins Road.
According to OSP reports:
Angela Boggs, 24, of Delaware was arrested for operating a vehicle
intoxicated Friday at 3:11 a.m. after a traffic stop on U.S. 33.
Emily Matthews, 19, of St. Marys was charged with operating a vehicle
intoxicated Saturday at 2:02 a.m. after a traffic stop on U.S. 33.
Claudia Howard, 56, of Milford Center was charged with operating a
vehicle intoxicated, possibly from prescription medication, Thursday at
2:50 p.m. after a traffic stop on U.S. 36 near Collins Avenue.

According to police reports:
Charges are pending against a 17-year-old male from the 100 block of
Chestnut Street for falsification, obstructing police business and
curfew violations. Today at 3:15 a.m. an officer on patrol along
Milcrest Drive spotted a juvenile male who matched the description for a
male they were looking for from another report earlier that day. When
stopped, the male claimed he was from North Carolina and proceeded to
give information, which turned out to be false. He then fled the scene
on foot and eluded police. He was later apprehended in the 300 block of
Chestnut Street after it was determined one of the social security
numbers he provided was correct and information on his home on Chestnut
Street was obtained.
Tools were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of
Emmaus Drive Tuesday night.
A purse and a jacket were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle parked in
the 500 block of Apple Drive.
Charges are pending against a 16-year-old male who was found with a bag
of marijuana in his pocket at Marysville High school Tuesday at 9:30
a.m.
Charges are pending against a 12-year-old male for menacing and
disorderly conduct after bullying another male at Marysville Middle
School numerous times since Sept. 29. The suspect has allegedly
tormented the male at the school in public, along with confronting him
in the restrooms.
James Tweed, 21, of 968 Coventry Place was arrested on an outstanding
warrant of safecracking out of Lancaster. He was apprehended in the 900
block of Coventry Place Tuesday at 10:30 p.m.
Information on a 8:24 a.m. Tuesday injury accident was released. Two
were injured in the crash.
Harold and Patricia Sherman, both 59, of Prospect were in a vehicle
stopped for traffic while driving down North Main Street at Elwood
Avenue. Traveling behind them, driver Claudia Fetter, 58, of Marion did
not stop in time and rear ended their vehicle. Both of the Sherman's
were injured and transported by Marysville medics to Memorial Hospital
of Union County. Fetter was cited for failure to leave assured clear
distance ahead.
According to sheriff's reports:
Several juveniles were forced to clean up their mess after criminally
damaging a Port-O-John on East State Street in Milford Center Tuesday at
4:42 p.m. Two 13-year-old females, one 12-year-old female, one
11-year-old male and one 12-year-old male were all located after the
incident and deputies met with their parents. The juveniles were
escorted back to the scene where they were made to clean and repair the
damaged toilet. It is unknown at this time if charges will be filed.
According to OSP reports:
Jerald Holsey, 35, of Akron was arrested today at 2:54 a.m. for
operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a traffic stop on U.S. 33
near Scottslawn Road.
Today at 5:22 a.m. one person was injured in a crash in Liberty
Township. Alicia A. Wilson, 18, of 274 Stockdale Drive was traveling
southbound on Raymond Road when she lost control of her vehicle and went
off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck a guardrail and
overturned, rolling onto its top. Wilson was injured in the crash and
transported by MedFlight, with non-life threatening injuries, to Grant
Medical Center. 

10/25/05
According to police reports:
A 13-year-old female reported sexual misconduct by an adult male, which
allegedly occurred in the early morning hours of Monday in the 500 block
of North Main Street.
A sequined purse was stolen out of a residence sometime over Monday
night in the 700 block of Milcrest Drive.
According to sheriff's reports:
It was reported Monday at 10:11 a.m. that a concession stand in the
18000 block of Main Street in Broadway was forcibly entered. It is
unknown if anything was stolen.
Sometime on Sunday a truck was parked for sale outside a residence in
the 19000 of West Darby Road. Overnight an unknown person smashed out
the passenger side window.
A concession stand was broken into today at 2:52 a.m. in the 21000 block
of Main Street in Raymond. Nothing was reported stolen.
Thomas E. Mills, 31, of Columbus was charged with operating a vehicle
intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was observed
traveling too slow on U.S. 42 at U.S. 33 today at 3:09 a.m. His vehicle
was almost struck from behind by a semi as he went over a hill. Mills
then stopped at a motel nearby and was approached by officers.
According to OSP reports:
One person was injured in a crash Monday at 4 p.m. on Honda Parkway at
Northwest Parkway. Jonathon Collins, 48, of Urbana was headed northbound
on Honda Parkway, when Stephanie Nelson, 18, of Mechanicsburg failed to
yield at a stop sign at Northwest Parkway. She pulled out and was struck
by Collins' vehicle. Collins was injured and transported by Allen
Township medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County. Nelson was cited
for failure to yield at a stop sign.
Kazue M. Motoki, 41, of Plain City was charged with operating a vehicle
intoxicated Sunday at 1:04 a.m. after he was stopped on Northwest
Parkway at Cradler Turner Road.
One person was injured in a crash Sunday at 8:58 p.m. in Darby Township.

David R. Kiley, 20, of Plain City was reportedly traveling southwest
bound on County Road 46 and lost control of his vehicle. He drove off
the right side of the road, struck a concrete bridge support, went
airborne and overturned, coming to a stop on the wheels. Kiley suffered
non-incapacitating injuries and was transported by Pleasant Valley
medics to Ohio State University for treatment.

10/24/05
According to police reports:
A wallet was reported stolen from a residence on Butternut Drive
Saturday between 4:30 and 5 p.m.
A concrete mixer, valued at approximately $2,000, was stolen from a
construction site at Walker Woods Lane Thursday night.
David Lee Call, 26, of Delaware was charged with disorderly conduct
after a fight with several people in the 500 block of Meadows Drive
Sunday at 4:28 a.m.
Charges are under investigation for juveniles standing around a vehicle
on U.S. 33 eastbound at the Delaware Avenue off ramp Sunday at 12:37
a.m. Prescription medication, which did not belong to the suspects, was
found in the vehicle.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle was reported after a relative took a
vehicle belonging to a member of his family in the 900 block of West
Fifth Street sometime on Friday. The vehicle was parked at McDonalds at
2:30 a.m. A 22-year-old male was suspected of the incident.
A 25-year-old man flagged down officers at 2 a.m. on Saturday reporting
he had been assaulted by a 28-year-old man, who allegedly struck him in
the head with a beer bottle. The victim was bleeding down the side of
his face when he approached officers. The assault reportedly happened at
a bar in the 100 block of North Main Street earlier in the evening.
Charges are expected to be filed.
Charges are pending for criminal damaging after a 34-year-old man
alleged broke out a window at a residence in the 100 block of Jasmine
Drive Saturday at 1:28 a.m. The man was observed by witnesses running
from the scene.
Timothy Huffman, 37, of 548 North Main St. was charged with disorderly
conduct after he was found passed out and intoxicated on the floor in a
hallway of an apartment building in the 100 block of North Main Street
Sunday at 6 a.m.
Several people were charged after a vehicle was pulled over Sunday at 3
a.m. in the 700 block of Milford Avenue. The driver, Eric Brown, 32, of
104 Park Ave., was cited for operating a vehicle intoxicated; Passenger
Lynna Braun, 20, of 28 Butternut Drive was charged with possession of an
open container of alcohol. The bottle had spilled on the car floor and
the vehicle smelled strongly of alcohol, according to reports. Another
passenger, Laura Smith, 20, of 13426 U.S. 36 was charged with underage
consumption of alcohol and possession of alcohol.
M. Antoinette Seals, 47, of 616 Allenby Drive was charged with operating
a vehicle intoxicated after she was witnessed running a red light at
Sixth and Main Street Sunday at 1:20 a.m.
A 16-year-old male from the 15000 block of Hillview Road was charged
with operating a vehicle intoxicated, driving under suspension and
failure to control his vehicle after he crashed a Porche into a tree on
Quail Hollow Drive at Meadows Drive Saturday at 10:37 p.m.
Jared Walker, 26, of Plain City was charged with disorderly conduct
after he reportedly became belligerent and was shouting obscenities in
the Memorial Hospital emergency room Saturday at 3:30 a.m. He had been
found on the ground and intoxicated outside a bar in the downtown area.
His ankle had been dislocated.
James Kreis, 34, of 887 Watkins Glen Blvd., was charged with operating a
vehicle intoxicated after he drove away from a fight at the Watkins Glen
apartment complex Friday at 11:20 p.m.
According to sheriff's reports:
A 95-gallon trash can was reported stolen from a residence on Reed
Street in Unionville Center Thursday sometime between 8:30  and 10 a.m.
Prescription medication was reported stolen from a residence in the
21000 block of Cunningham Arbella Road Friday.
Jerren R. Burns, 18, of 78 Pleasant St. in Milford Center was charged
with hit/skip and possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and
failure to control his vehicle. Burns crashed into a URE guy wire on a
pole Friday night at Burns Road and left his front license plate at the
scene.
Rory N. Barnhart, 39, of 11210 Route 47 was charged with failure to
control his two jack Russell terriers. The canines attacked a neighbor's
cat, which resulted in the animal being put to sleep because of the
serious injuries. It was the second offense for Barnhart and he was
cited Friday at 5:37 p.m. in the 11000 block of Route 47.
The theft of a header cart for a combine, valued from $2,000 to $3,000,
was reported Saturday at 11 a.m. on Hamilton Road in Jackson Township.
A 17-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct after he was found
with other standing outside a vehicle with its hazard lights on Sunday
at 1:18 a.m. on Whitestone Road. The male was intoxicated and the
juveniles had stopped to go to the bathroom.
Tyler B. Kerns, 21, of 91 Grand Avenue was charged with operating a
vehicle intoxicated and driving outside of marked lanes. A vehicle was
reported to be speeding through the Village of Broadway Sunday at 12:10
a.m. and his vehicle was stopped for the offense.

10/20/05
According to police reports:
Jonathon Baltrusca, 24, of Milford was arrested Wednesday at 8:11 p.m.
on a felony charge of receiving stolen property after he was stopped on
U.S. 33, eastbound at Route 36. He was in a disabled vehicle which had
been reported stolen. Baltrusca reportedly resisted arrest when
confronted and additional charges are pending.
Marysville Police are asking that anyone who lost a ring over the
weekend at the Chinese restaurant on Emmaus Drive contact the department
to reclaim the item.
A vehicle was reported vandalized Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. from a resident
on Allenby Drive.
A bicycle was stolen Wednesday from a property on West Fourth Street.
According to sheriff's reports:
Timothy Allen Quail, 50, of Forest was arrested for operating a vehicle
intoxicated and additional charges for driving a commercial truck under
the influence, driving left of center and driving with an open container
of alcohol. Quail was witnessed by a deputy driving his tractor trailer
on Route 31 north of Martin Welch Road Wednesday at 2:54 p.m. He was
observed swerving the truck into the southbound lanes and reportedly
nearly struck the deputy's vehicle. The truck was stopped and the deputy
investigated further to find that a water bottle in the front seat was
actually filled with vodka.
Johnny L. Miller, 29, of Columbus was arrested Wednesday at 5:12 a.m. in
the 10000 block of Maple Dell Road. A resident in the area reported two
vehicles in the driveway had windows broken out. One of the cars had
been forcibly entered and an undetermined amount of cash, contained in a
bag, was stolen. A suspect was seen fleeing the scene on foot, which was
later discovered to be Miller. The victim knew the person and charges
are currently pending on the theft.
A gas station in the 10000 block of U.S. 42 reported two vehicles drove
off without paying for gasoline Wednesday at 12:46 p.m. and again at
1:53 p.m., valued at $35.70 and $54.33.
Vehicles were reported forcibly entered Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the
16000 block of Allen Center Road.
A residence on Pleasant Street in Milford Center reported the theft of
medication from the home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Theft of medication, valued at $300, was reported Wednesday at 9:29 p.m.
in the 21000 block of Northwest Parkway.
Kristin M. Hullenkremer, 34, of 330 Mound St. was charged with operating
a vehicle intoxicated, driving outside of marked lanes and improper
backing today at 2:33 a.m. An officer observed her driving on U.S. 36 at
Watkins Road, almost striking a parked vehicle. When Hullenkremer was
pulled over, the officer reported she then placed the vehicle in reverse
and the car began accelerating in reverse. The officer was forced to get
back in his vehicle in order to avoid a collision. She was then
arrested.
According to OSP reports:
Three people were injured in a crash on Post Road Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Seth Lyon, 18, of Plain City was reportedly traveling westbound on Post
Road. At the same time, Craig Vinson, 22, of 674 W. Sixth St. was
traveling eastbound on Post Road when he attempted to enter U.S. 33 and
drove into the path of Lyon and was struck. Both Lyon and Vinson
suffered minor visible injuries from the crash. Vinson's passenger Brett
Conley, 26, of Raymond was also injured. Information on where the
victims were transported by medics was not available before press time.

10/19/05
According to police reports:
William E. Cline, 40, 21923 Raymond Road was charged with obstructing
police business Tuesday at 5:23 p.m. after he ran from officers near
Collins Avenue. He was apprehended and discovered to be wanted on a
felony warrant out of Franklin County.
Charges are pending against a 20-year-old male who threatened to harm a
17-year-old female in the 600 block of Meadows Drive Tuesday at 10 p.m.
Police are investigating an employee of a car business in the 600 block
of East Fifth Street, who allegedly made six suspicious transactions
resulting in the loss of $1,300. The incident was reported Tuesday at
5:10 p.m.
Michael J. St. Laurent, 36, of 1661 Meadowlark Lane was charged with
domestic violence Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. He had turned himself into
police after being upset that he had struck his wife during an argument.

Assault charges are pending against a 15-year-old male who punched a
14-year-old male at the Marysville High school Tuesday at 8 a.m.
A Rosehill Drive resident reported several credit card accounts had been
fraudulently opened in her name, resulting in collection agencies
contacting her for payment. The report was made Tuesday at 1:20 p.m.
According to sheriff's reports:
Theft by deception was reported by a resident in the 17000 block of Dog
Leg Road Tuesday at 11:43 a.m. The homeowner contracted a company to
build a deck at the home and paid $1,000 to begin. The transaction was
made on June 7 and by Tuesday the work had still not begun.
Monday night in the 7600 block of McKitrick Road a car was broken into
and $720 in items, including a purse, medication, cash and clothing.
Claudia F. Howard, 56, of 9 Pleasant St. was cited for failure to
confine her dog Tuesday after the animal was running loose, after
previous incidents.
The top of a 2003 Toyota convertible was cut by an unknown person
sometime between Monday night and Tuesday in the 24000 block of Honda
Parkway.
According to OSP reports:
A woman suffered minor injuries after a crash Tuesday at 6:52 p.m. in
Union Township. Lori F. Watson, 41, of Plain City was driving southbound
on County Road 77 at Route 4 when a dog ran into the path of her car
from the west. As a result of the collision, the dog was killed and her
vehicle went off the road and overturned onto its side. Her injuries did
not warrant transport by medics

10/18/05
According to police reports:
A possible violation of a protection order is being investigated in the
1200 block of Brookstone Drive Monday at 3:45 p.m. After incidents
throughout the day.
The possible theft of hospital equipment is being investigated. A woman
reportedly checked out a monitor from Memorial Hospital of Union County
on Sept. 26 and by Monday had not returned the item as requested.
Charges are pending against a 17-year-old male who reportedly was in
possession of alcohol in the Marysville High School parking lot on
Amrine Mill Road Monday at 10 a.m.
William E. Cline, 40, of 21923 Raymond Road was charged with theft after
he allegedly stole drill bits from a business in the 1200 block of West
Fifth Street on Friday at 5:25 p.m. and then later tried to return the
items for cash.
According to sheriff's reports:
A Franklin Street resident reported discovering paint or oil stain cans
that were dumped in the roadway on Claibourne Road at the bridge north
of Gandy Eddy Road. More cans were later located in the stream and EMA
was contacted, who in turn contacted the Ohio EPA for clean up. More
cans were then located further north on Claibourne Road as well as on
Route 4 at the Wolford Maskill Road intersection. The cans reportedly
appeared to be old and intentionally dumped.
According to OSP reports:
Mark Lamneck, 50, of Plain City was arrested for operating a vehicle
intoxicated and failure to control Saturday at 2:45 a.m. Lamneck was
traveling westbound on Route 161 when he lost control and went off the
left side of the road, striking a utility pole. Passenger James E.
Gileilen, 34, of Plain City was injured and transported by Jerome
Township medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County. Lamneck and two
other passengers were not injured.

10/14/05
According to police reports:
Home Depot on Coleman's Crossing was evacuated Thursday after a man
allegedly called and threatened the store employees.
According to Marysville Police, a man told Home Depot employees over the
phone that they had "20 minutes to leave" before something happened. The
call came at around 10:15 a.m. to the store at 880 Coleman's Crossing
Boulevard. The business is currently under construction and is not yet
opened.
The store was evacuated and police investigated the threat. They soon
discovered the threat was reportedly the result of a man who had tried
to apply for a job and was turned down because he failed a mandatory
drug screening.
Charges, including that of menacing, are pending against the man. His
name has not been released at this time.
Police are investigating a report made by a third party from Dogwood
Drive, that a 14-year-old Marysville female allegedly had sexual
relations with two adult males in Dec. 2004.
A blue bicycle was stolen from a yard in the 700 block of Meadows Drive
Thursday at 7 p.m.
A ceramic lawn ornament was found smashed in the middle of Hickory Drive
today at 12:30 a.m.
Domestic violence charges are pending against Joseph M. Schlecht, 25, of
316 W. Fifth St. after he allegedly struck his pregnant girlfriend
during an argument today at 1 a.m. at his home.
According to sheriff's reports:
A 4-wheel ATV, valued at $4,600, was stolen from a barn in the 32000
block of Route 31 sometime over Wednesday night.

According to police reports:
A 17-year-old male from the 500 block of Dove Street was charged with
possession of marijuana Wednesday at 9:51 p.m. after a police officer
found him smoking the drug in a bathroom at Legion Park on Park Avenue.
The front door and the rear door of a residence in the 100 block of
Pecan Drive was discovered broken into Wednesday at 4:50 p.m. Only
photographs have been reported stolen at this time.
According to sheriff's reports:
A total of $264 in items, including a stereo and change, were stolen
from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 27000 block of Ford Reed Road
Tuesday night.
A purse, credit cards, a shotgun and a radar detector, with a combined
value of $1,590, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the
16000 block of Harmon Patrick Road Tuesday night.
An unknown person broke into a detached garage at a residence in the
28000 block of Grindell Road Tuesday night and stole change out of an
unlocked vehicle.
Prescription drugs were reportedly stolen out of two residences in the
14000 block of Pleasant Ridge Drive sometime between Sept. 19 and
Tuesday.
According to OSP reports:
Kathryn Walker, 66, whose address was not available, was arrested for
operating a vehicle intoxicated Tuesday at 5:05 p.m. after a traffic
stop on Northwest Parkway.
Alan Moore, 43, of Aspen Drive was arrested for operating a motor
vehicle intoxicated after a traffic stop Wednesday at 9:19 a.m. on Route
245 at Northwest Parkway.

10/12/05
According to police reports:
An unknown person attempted to break into the mechanic's office at the
Marysville school's bus building in the 700 block of Amrine Mill Road
sometime between 5:30 p. m. on Monday and 5 a.m. this morning. The
person used a screw driver to pry open the door but entry was not
gained.
A 48-year-old woman alleges she was assaulted by an unknown male Tuesday
at 10:30 p.m. on Cottonwood Drive. She reported no injuries.
A person reported his Ohio State University class ring was stolen from a
bar in the 200 block of North Plum Street sometime between Sept. 27 and
Tuesday morning.
Tools were reported stolen from a garage sometime over the weekend in
the 15000 block of Scottslawn Road.
Monday at 1:58 p.m. Tina Simpson, 18, of 149 Cottonwood Drive was
charged with disorderly conduct after an incident in the 500 block of
North Main Street involving a property exchange. Simpson reportedly
became aggressive towards her mother and made threatening comments.
According to sheriff's reports:
Christine Evans, 19, of 9408 Warner Road was arrested for operating a
vehicle intoxicated, super concentration of blood alcohol levels and
failure to maintain control of her vehicle. Saturday at 8:45 p.m. she
reportedly crashed her vehicle on Mitchell Dewitt Road into a utility
pole and came to a stop in a bean field. Her blood alcohol level was
documented at 2.31.
Two men were charged with consuming alcohol in a vehicle Sunday at 12:47
p.m. in the New Dover Mobile Home Park. Timothy Morrison, 31, of
Delaware and Bruce Slane, 41, of 11480 U.S. 36 East were charged.
Charges of obstructing justice are pending against Morrison after he
told deputies his name was "Rick James" and included an expletive at the
end. Morrison was wanted out of Delaware on an outstanding warrant for
failure to appear in court in Delaware.
A burglary in progress was reported Sunday at 1:17 a.m. in the 16000
block of Allen Center Road. A vehicle picked up a male subject at the
home and drove westbound. The resident reported the front door was wide
open, although nothing appeared to have been stolen.
A business in the 7400 block of Highland Croy Road reported that the
lock was cut and two chainsaws were stolen Saturday night.
Nothing was stolen out of an attempted breaking and entering incident in
the 9600 block of El Camino Lane Sunday night. Damage estimates are
still being compiled.
A business in the 7400 block of Highland Croy Road reported the rear
window of a company truck had been broken out Sunday night.
The North Union School Board property in the 12000 block of Route 739
was reportedly vandalized Sunday night. An unknown person drove
"doughnuts" in the grass with an ATV vehicle, causing $200 in damages.
Deborah A. McCarty, 49, of 20079 Paver Barnes Road was arrested for
operating a vehicle intoxicated, speeding and high levels of blood
alcohol levels after a traffic stop on Johnson Road at Liberty West Road
in Liberty Township Tuesday at 1:26 p.m.
Three guns, valued at $1,664, were stolen from a home in the 25000 of
Patrick Brush Run Road Sunday night. No forced entry was discovered.
Tuesday at 8:22 p.m. a man reported his home in the 10000 block of Homer
Road was broken into and ransacked sometime overnight Monday. An
undetermined amount of jewelry was stolen and $400 in damages were
listed to the front door.
According to OSP reports:
Linda M. Sweeney, 57, of 14522 Hillview Road was cited for failure to
control her vehicle after she crashed Monday at 12:45 p.m. on U.S. 33.
Sweeney was headed westbound on U.S. 33 near Marysville when she went
off the right side of the road, striking a bridge rail. Her vehicle then
veered into the median, striking a guardrail, then went across the
westbound lanes and off the road striking another guardrail. Sweeney was
injured in the crash and transported by Marysville medics to Memorial
Hospital of Union County.
Raymond M. Puzines, 24, of Sunbury was headed westbound on Route 36 in
Dover Township Monday at 8:15 a.m. when he lost control and went off the
right side of the roadway, then overcorrected and went off the left side
of the roadway, striking a ditch and a utility pole. Puzines was injured
in the crash and transported by Marysville medics to Memorial Hospital
of Union County. He was also cited for failure to maintain control of
his vehicle.

A man was arrested for abduction after he allegedly went to the home of
a woman and threatened to kill her and her family with a knife on
Friday.
Union County Sheriff's deputies arrested Shawn P. Didot, 29, of 120
Northcrest Drive Friday at 12:24 p.m. for abduction.
According to reports, Didot went to a house in the 25000 block of
Patrick Brush Run Road to allegedly confront a woman over a property
dispute. When he arrived at the home he pulled out a knife and
threatened to kill her and her family.
Deputies were called to the scene and Didot was apprehended.
According to police reports:
Michael P. Hockensmith, 22, of 796 Watkins Glen Blvd. was charged with
shooting missiles at 9:40 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Watkins Glen
Boulevard. A woman in the block reported an arrow was shot into her
apartment wall. Hockensmith was discovered to be practicing with a bow
and arrow.
A 15-year-old male from the 500 block of North Main Street was charged
with assault Monday at 4:45 p.m. in downtown Marysville. He reportedly
struck another juvenile male in the area.
The mother of a 15-year-old male reported she found a marijuana pipe and
two marijuana plants in his room Monday at noon. Deputies seized the
drugs and destroyed the property. Reportedly, the juvenile is already
facing similar drug-related charges and is currently under probation.
According to sheriff's reports:
Deputies recovered a total of 40 marijuana plants growing in the area of
Clark Dawson Road at Wilbur Road in the county on Wednesday. The report
of the drugs was called in by the BCI&I, who had flown over the area in
their search.
According to reports, the plants have a combined street value of $20,000
to $40,000. The investigation into the drugs is ongoing.
Jewelry, valued at $4,000, was stolen from a residence on Park Street in
Magnetic Springs sometime between the month of September and Friday.
Jewelry, coins  and electronic equipment were stolen from a burglary of
a home in the 17000 block of Whitestone Road sometime on Friday.
Another burglary was reported in the 10000 block of Harriet Road Friday
night. Deputies found the door wide open at the home. A black truck,
with two males and a woman inside were observed in the area. The
suspects were not located.

According to police reports:
Police were able to secure the 600 block of Meadows Drive after a man
reportedly attempted suicide with a shot gun Sunday at 5:21 p.m.
According to assistant chief Glenn Nicol, a 47-year-old man at 614
Meadows Drive claimed he was going to commit suicide with his weapon. He
warned he would shoot at police if they showed up to the home.
Fortunately, Nicol said, within around 10 minutes of the initial report,
the man's wife discovered her husband had fallen asleep.
He said police entered the house to find the man asleep on the couch,
holding an unloaded shotgun. The shells to the weapon were found nearby.

The man was not charged in the incident, but was taken by medics to
receive a mental evaluation.
Prescription medication was reported stolen from a home in the 800 block
of Pinehurst Drive sometime between Thursday and Sunday.
John J. Hause, 19, of 917 W. Fifth St. was charged with trespassing
Saturday at 10:23 p.m. He was reportedly skateboarding at the First
Methodist Church on Court Street.
Jerry L. Mershon, 37, of 176 Willow Drive was charged with disorderly
conduct after he was allegedly intoxicated and got into a fight in the
200 block of North Plum Street Saturday at 9:34 p.m.
A DVD player was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block
of Buerger Street Friday night.
Sometime on Saturday, a $600 MP3 player was stolen from a residence in
the 500 block of Allenby Drive.
Saturday at 4:42 a.m. an unknown person attempted to gain entrance to a
garage in the 700 block of West Ninth Street.
Theodore Pandin, 24, of 331 W. Ninth St. was charged with operating a
vehicle intoxicated and driving outside of marked lanes after a traffic
stop on North Maple Street at Amrine Mill Road Saturday at 3:53 a.m.
Brian P. Smith, 19, of 13974 Pleasant Ridge Road was charged with
disorderly conduct intoxication after he was found walking in the
roadway on Ninth Street at London Avenue Saturday at 2:09 a.m.
Mindy I. Brown, 26, of 236 W. Third St. was charged with criminal
damaging after she became unruly at a bar in the 100 block of North Main
Street Saturday at 1:43 a.m. As she was being removed from the business,
she broke out the window near the entrance.

The office was closed in observance of Columbus Day.
According to OSP reports:
One man was arrested after a crash Saturday at 11:03 p.m. on Robinson
Road at Route 736 in Darby Township.
Christopher Smalley, 23, of Columbus was charged with operating a
vehicle intoxicated and failure to maintain control.
Smalley was driving southbound on Robinson Road when he lost control and
went off the left side of the road into a ditch. He then struck a
utility pole and the vehicle rolled to a stop.
He was injured in the crash and was transported by Marysville medics to
Memorial Hospital of Union County for care.

According to police reports:
Police were forced to shoot a vicious pit bull loose in the area of
Aspen Drive Thursday at 8:20 a.m. Residents in the area reported the
animal was loose and the county dog warden was called. Several attempts
were made to place the canine in a noose to place it under control. When
the animal lunged at the warden police were forced to shoot the animal.
Charges are under review toward a 13-year-old male suspect who allegedly
stole a cell phone and a driver's license from a vehicle in the 400
block of North Main Street Thursday at 7:40 p.m.
Wire cable was reported stolen from a CSX depot today at 9:25 a.m. in
the 400 block of Sycamore Street.
Gregory J. Svede, 41, of 200 Bridgewater Drive was charged with driving
with an open container of alcohol after a traffic stop on U.S. 33
Thursday at 8:05 p.m.
A woman in the 700 block of Meadows Drive reported she was assaulted by
a male Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The incident is currently under
investigation.
A woman in the 2000 block of Charles Lane reported she was assaulted by
a male while she was inside her vehicle Thursday at 5:15 p.m. Charges
have not been filed on the incident.
Police are reviewing possible charges against two 13-year-old females
for disorderly conduct. The two were allegedly bullying younger
juveniles in the area of Sycamore Street outside of school. The
incidents have become an ongoing problem.
According to sheriff's reports:
A man appeared in the Marysville Municipal Court Wednesday at 11:54 a.m.
for a failure to appear in court  on charges concerning a speeding
ticket given in June. The man claimed that he was not the person
involved in the citation and that a man out of New Carlisle has been
fraudulently using his identity and has previously caused similar court
problems throughout the state. The deputy who originally wrote the
speeding ticket confirmed that victim's story. Deputies are now
investigating the incident and charges are pending against the suspect.
Wednesday at 2:14 p.m. a government agency reported the theft of $56.26
from clients in the 11000 block of Route 4. The theft is under
investigation.
Thursday employees of a business on Olive Street in Magnetic Springs
reported at 7:44 p.m. that a rear window had been broken out and a
screen had been cut.
Terrie L. Callahan, 23, of Hilliard was arrested for domestic violence
and criminal damaging Thursday at 6:53 p.m. in Dublin. According to
reports, Callahan showed up at her ex-boyfriend's home in the 8000 block
of Mitchell Dewitt Road and started an altercation. She allegedly kicked
and chased the man around with a golf club, then she got inside his
vehicle to attempt to run him over. She then smashed the window of
another vehicle on the scene with the golf club. She then left the area
and drove to Dublin, where local police were forced to taser her in
order to make the arrest.
A dump station, or holder for scrap stainless steel parts, was reported
stolen Thursday at 10:38 a.m. from a business in the 8000 block of
Memorial Drive. The item is valued at $175.
Jeffrey L. Hartman, 25, of 26603 Ford Reed Road in Richwood was arrested
for operating a vehicle intoxicated and failure to control his vehicle
after he crashed into a ditch today at 1:42 a.m. on Zook Road, west of
Claibourne Road.

An alleged assault is being investigated after a woman reported an
incident involving a man Wednesday at 8:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Farm
Brook Drive.
Employees at Wal-Mart on U.S. 36 East reported a man used a counterfeit
bill Wednesday at 2 p.m. The man had altered a $10 bill to look like a
$100 bill.
A vehicle was keyed on the left door sometime on Wednesday in the 16000
block of Square Drive.
A business in the 14000 block of Central Way - off Industrial Parkway -
reported receiving $3,000 in forged checks Wednesday at 3:44 p.m.
Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. a business reported the theft of $30 in cash in
the 800 block of East Fifth Street.
According to sheriff's reports:
On Wednesday a repo company was confiscating a vehicle and the driver
found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside. The car was taken from
the 8400 block of Brock Road.
A business reported that overnight Tuesday a trailer containing
lawnmowers and equipment was stolen in the 8300 block of Rausch Road.
The total loss was listed at $43,696.
John M. Anderson, 41, of Michigan was charged with operating a vehicle
intoxicated and speeding today at 1:58 a.m. after a traffic stop on
Route 4, north of Route 347.
According to OSP reports:
Two people were injured in a crash Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Union
Township. Michael R. Landon, Jr., 19, of Milford Center was stopped on
South Mill Street waiting to make a left hand turn onto East Center
Street. Lori A. Bowman, 21, of Milford Center reportedly did not see his
vehicle at the intersection and struck his car. Bowman was cited for
failure to leave assured clear distance ahead. Both were injured and
transported by medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County.

According to police reports:
Charges are pending against a 31-year-old Marysville woman for allegedly
assaulting her boyfriend in a domestic dispute Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. in
the 300 block of North Main Street.
Arthur L. Burchett, 35, of 548 N. Main St. was charged with disorderly
conduct Tuesday at 9:05 p.m. Burchett was reportedly heavily intoxicated
and fell on his face, causing injuries. He was transported from near his
home by Marysville medics for care.
Today at midnight a 9-year-old male alleged he was struck by his
mother's boyfriend in the 500 block of Allenby Drive.
According to sheriff's reports:
A resident in the 11000 block of Watkins Road reported Tuesday at 5:48
p.m. that an unknown person had stolen his credit card and has since
made $1,571.41 in charges.
Virgil A. Hinkle, 42, of Russells Point was charged with possession of
an open container of alcohol. Tuesday at 8:23 p.m. deputies found Hinkle
on Route 47 at Fawley Road where he was taken into custody for warrants
out of Bellefontaine.

More details on an early morning Tuesday crash were reported today. At
7:30 a.m. yesterday Sandra A. Simpson, 41, of Powell was westbound on
County Road 104 and began to proceed through a green light at the
intersection of U.S. 42. At that time Ralph Douglas Lloyd, 51, of
Missouri was northbound on U.S. 42 in a commercial truck owned by
Garfield Storage and Transfer. He reportedly ran the red light, striking
the left front of Simpson's vehicle. Lloyd's vehicle then continued left
of center and struck the vehicle of Mindy K. Ary, 26, of Ostrander, who
was stopped at the intersection. Simpson was injured in the crash and
transported by Jerome Township medics to Ohio State University Hospital.

One person was injured in a crash today at 6:45 a.m. John Stoller, 60,
of Indiana was driving a 2004 Chevy van on Northwest Parkway and turning
left onto Honda Parkway when he pulled into the path of Waldemar
Buettner, 40, of Springfield, who was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle.
The motorcycle hit the van and Buettner was ejected. He was reportedly
wearing a helmet, but suffered minor injuries. He was transported by
medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County.

According to police reports:
The tip jar, containing an estimated $50 to $60, was stolen from a bar
in the 100 block of North Main Street today at 1 a.m.
A bathtub, valued from $600 to $800, was stolen from a house under
construction in the 300 block of Shell Bark Drive sometime over the
weekend.
Prescription medication was reported stolen from a residence in the 500
block of North Main Street between Sept. 15 and Monday.
An unknown person fraudulently charged money toward Internet sites with
a South Vine Street resident's credit card, sometime since Sept. 30.
Sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday an unknown person allegedly
pried open a door on Red Pine Drive and stole a resident's rent money. A
glass table was also shattered.
Assault charges are pending against a 25-year-old male after an incident
in the 200 block of Scottslawn Boulevard Monday at 4 p.m. Reportedly,
one male approached the suspect in a threatening manner during a
football game and the suspect grabbed the man's wrist, which caused a
slight fracture.
A clothing business in the 100 block of North Main Street was reportedly
broken into sometime between Midnight and 10 a.m. on Monday. The rear
door was found ajar and the door knob was broken. Nothing was reported
stolen from inside.
According to sheriff's reports:
Chris R. Speakman, 18, of London was charged with possession of
marijuana Monday at 11:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of El Camino Drive.
Deputies responded to a call about a man sleeping in a parked car in the
area. Speakman was inside and claimed to be waiting on a friend. The
friend then appeared from a garage of a nearby residence and had a
conflicting story about why they were there. After a pat down of the
suspects, Marijuana was found inside a bag on Speakman. Also found was a
straw with white residue on it. Potential drug charges are pending on
the substance pending laboratory results.
According to OSP reports:
This morning traffic was tied up on U.S. 42 after a three car crash in
southeastern Union County. Reportedly, at 7:35 a.m. two cars and a
commercial vehicle collided at the intersection of U.S. 42 at Watkins
Road. Injured people were taken to Ohio State University Hospital for
care. Details on the accident are expected to be completed for Tuesday's
police beat.
Two people were reported injured after a one-car crash Friday at 1:05
p.m. in Paris Township. Rhoda L. Holton, 25, of 526 Hickory Drive was
reportedly driving northbound on U.S. 36 when a deer ran into her path.
She lost control of the vehicle and crashed. She was injured and
transported by Marysville medics to Memorial Hospital of Union County.
Her 1-year-old daughter was also injured and transported as well.
Further details on the incident were not available.
