It’s time for Journal-Tribune’s 2017 fall sports previews
Local high school fall sports teams have been practicing for a couple of weeks in preparation for the 2017 season.
Golfers and tennis players have already had several matches, while boys and girls soccer and volleyball squads may begin their seasons this weekend.
Football teams will also be wrapping up their preseason scrimmage slates either tonight or Saturday.
The gridiron regular season will begin next Friday.
The Journal-Tribune will once again publish preview information and photographs for the various high school sports teams.
The newspaper will use a slightly different format this year.
Instead of publishing a separate “tab” edition for football, that information will be included within the regular pages of the Journal-Tribune.
Information for other high school fall sports will also be published the same way and on the same day.
The publications will begin on Saturday with Marysville High School teams.
That will be followed by Fairbanks-Monday, Jonathan Alder-Tuesday, North Union-Wednesday (to coincide with our publishing of next week’s Richwood Gazette) and Thursday-Triad.
The amount of space in the sports section on any given day may not allow us to publish pictures of every team for a given school.
Pictures that are not published on any school’s preview date will be put into the newspaper at a later time during the fall season.
The Journal-Tribune wishes all local fall sports teams good luck during the season.
