A group comprised of 14 Fairbanks High School students went on a trip to Costa Rica, led by Spanish and French teacher Katie Wilburn, from March 19 to 26.
These students went to coffee and chocolate plantations and did white water rafting, ziplining, hiking near a volcano, snorkeling and going to the beach, as well as many other fun activities.
All of the students had taken at least Spanish I and II classes, and included seniors Shannon Conroy, Abbey Hubbs, Alexis Smith, Hunter Johnson, Kira Jones and Marisa Nicol, as well as underclassmen Samantha Adkins, Elizabeth Feaster, Sara Nicol, Katelyn Harris, Jojo Renicker, Jacob Long, Grace Boerger and Mikayla Writesel.
Fairbanks Elementary School teacher Rachel Jones also attended as a chaperone.
The group stayed at four different hotels, starting in San Jose, then traveled to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and La Fortuna and ended in Guanacaste.
