One person is dead after a traffic crash involving a semi on U.S. 33 in Logan County this morning.
A representative of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said first responders were sent to the crash on U.S. 33 near Route 739 at about 5:52 a.m. As of 8:30 a.m., officials said rescue crews remained at the scene.
Since the Ohio State Highway Patrol handled the investigation, Logan County law enforcement had limited information. According to preliminary reports, it appeared a single driver was killed but reports do not include information on additional victims. Reports from the scene indicate a tractor trailer involved in the crash caught fire and burned down to the frame.
Multiple calls to the Marysville Ohio State Highway Patrol post went unanswered, and officials from the agency’s central records office said photos likely wouldn’t be available until later today.
More information will be available in Thursday’s Journal-Tribune.
