Anna Maria Fouty, 91, of Marysville, died quietly Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, with family by her side.
She and her husband, Robert, both retired from Franklin County Veteran Memorial. They spent many years traveling and spending winters in Florida in their RV.
Her family was the most important to her and she was very protective of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was known by many names, such as “Anna Maria,” “Anna,” “Maria,” “Mom,” “Grandma,” “Oma” and “GiGi.”
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert M. Fouty; sister, Helena Volkert; daughters, Karin Barrett (William) and Barbara Aberegg (James); grandchildren, Robert Adams (Alicia), Christina Shoffner (Scott), Tina Powell (VonZell) and Tammy Concitis (Gus); nine great-grandchildren; nephew and great nieces in Germany, Wolfgang Kuhn, Jessica Kuhn and Jennifer Kuhn; and a large extended family in Jackson County.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery in Columbus. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the Barrett residence.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions be made to Memorial Mobile Meals in care of the funeral home.
