Betty Jean Toms Miller, 93, of Delaware and formerly of Marysville and Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware.
She retired in 1983 from the Quaker Oats Company in Marion, where she worked as a teletype operator for 23 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville, where she helped with bingo for many years.
She also volunteered delivering mobile meals for Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware for 12 years and was a patient care volunteer for Memorial Hospital in Marysville. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, reading and playing cards.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1924, in Cambridge, to the late O.O. and Jenny Bunnell Toms. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joseph H. Miller, and son, Michael Franklin.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Larry) Gillespie of Delaware; grandchildren, Cheryl Gerstenberger, Rick Vordermark, Kelly Blue and Scott (Michelle) Franklin; great-grandchildren, Steven, Ava, Emerson, Adam and Zachary; daughter-in-law, Barbara Franklin of Prospect; and other relatives.
Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 E. Fifth St., Marysville. The Rev. Kevin J. Kavanagh will officiate a Mass of Christian burial at noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willow Brook Christian Village at Delaware Run, 100 Delaware Crossing West, Delaware, OH 43015.
