Beverlee Jean Miller, 91, of Marysville, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Memorial Gables, following a year of failing health and with her family by her side.
A woman of strong faith, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
A graduate of the Abbott Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she had a 40-year career in nursing. She worked at Memorial Hospital of Union County and retired from the Ohio Reformatory for Women in 1986.
To know her was to love her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, as well as a dear friend to many. A voracious reader, she enjoyed reading nearly anything and enjoyed crewelwork, especially with making pillows. An avid card player, she belonged to five bridge clubs. When she was 50, she decided on a new challenge and took up golfing. She continued playing until she was 80, sometimes in as many as three leagues.
She was born June 7, 1926, in Superior, Wisconsin, to the late Carl and Margaret (Kyle) Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard A. Miller, whom she married Aug. 27, 1949, in Columbus, and who died Dec. 7, 2016; a sister; and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Lynn) Miller and Jeanne (Stan) Stillings, both of Marysville, Marianne (Richard) Muhleman of Dublin and Richard C. (Joyce) Miller of Hilliard; grandchildren, Adam (Karrie) Miller, Kyle Miller, Patrick Miller, Kathryn (Michael) Lupia, Jill Muhleman, Grace Miller, Natalie Miller, Margaret Miller and Thomas Stillings; great-grandchildren, Marie and George Miller; sister, Nancy Hodsdon of Bradenton, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Rev. Kevin Kavanagh will officiate a memorial mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel.
