Frank Edward Coner, 91, of Marysville, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Brookdale Senior Living in Marysville.
He retired as a production line supervisor at Capital City Products in Columbus, where he was an associate for more than 30 years. He was also a former associate of Exact Weight Scale in Columbus.
He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. When he raised his family, he coached little league. Above all, he was a hard worker and devoted family man.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1926, in Columbus, in the Flytown-Goodale Park area, to the late Carl Coner and Elizabeth “Addie” Lowery Davis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, John Davis; daughter, Patricia Coner Conklin; grandson, Dale Conklin; mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Dorothy Duvall; brothers, Wilbur Coner and Herschel Powell; sisters, Geraldine Stevens, Doris Davis and Betty Jo Faught; and cousin, Danny Carey and his wife, Gloria.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise Sharp Coner, whom he married on April 6, 1948, in Russell, Kentucky; son, Scott (Josephine) Coner of Westerville; daughter, Sue (Roy) Young of Ostrander; grandchildren, Heath (Tricia) Conklin, Craig Breckenridge, Shawn (Mike) Gurrola-Coner, Travis Coner, Jordan Coner, Jessica (Tom) Panagopoulos and Joe (Laura) Young; great-grandchildren, Grant, Stella, Payton, Maebree, Jackxon and Isla; and many nieces, nephews and special friends, including Frank Waters, Jeanette, Doris, Marilyn, Charlene, Analiese, Linda, Jay and Francie.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at noon Friday at Union Cemetery in Columbus.
