Geraldine Ann “Gerri” (Evans) Miller, 85, of Plain City and longtime resident of Jerome, died peacefully March 14, 2018, at Edgewater Place in Plain City.
She consistently demonstrated that faith, family and friends were the priorities of her life. She was always a loving and dedicated wife, mother, church member and employee. She lived out these priorities through her regular attendance at Jerome United Methodist Church and membership with the United Methodist Women organization.
With their great friends from the church, she and her husband, Charles “Dee” Miller, worked together in missions, trips, and service to the church. She was always a fan of music and enjoyed participating in the Jerome United Methodist Church Choir. She continued her dedication to the church up until the weeks before she died, and could still be heard singing her alto part with the rest of the congregation.
She always took great pride in her work career. She was a long-time, proud employee and retiree of Wendy’s International. In addition, she was a school bus driver for the Dublin City School District for many years. She was a dedicated, loyal and valuable friend, coworker and employee to all with whom she worked.
She married her husband June 30, 1950, in Columbus, and moved to Jerome in 1955. There, over the next 50 years, they built their home and raised five children together. Not the least of her lifelong dedications, they were always avid fans of all sports at The Ohio State University. She was most especially a fan of the marching band, and eventually had her grandchildren participate in sports and the marching band.
She was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Columbus, to the late Ralph E. Evans and Maude C. Lewis Evans. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Eloise, Ruth and Evelyn.
She is survived by her children, Cathy (Rick) Spain of Milford Center, Tom (Debbie) Miller of Plain City, Chuck (Cathey) Miller of Indian Lake, Gary (Cyndie) Miller of Bellville and DeeAnn (Dan) King of Shawnee Hills; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Jeffers, Janel (Harland) Smyers, Aaron Spain, Ann Spain, Brittany, Brook, Jessica (Del), Zach Yeager, Seth (Ashley), Jared, Carissa (Joe) Mazzola, Hannah, Chris (Heather), Cody (Katie), Charlie (Caitlin), Katie (Brian) and Holly; sister, Betty June Davie; great-grandchildren, Alex (Miranda), Abi (Emily), Andrew, Adam, Matthew, Killian, Sam, Aleah, Isaac, Elizabeth, Rose, Jude, Olivia and Jeremiah; great-great-grandchildren, Allison, Euriah and Eleanor; and many loved and cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
