James Eugene Botkin, 73, of Dublin, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Glenwood Alzheimer Special Care Center in Dublin.
He was a retired engineer with Honda of America for more than 20 years. He attended Miami University and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, especially at Yellow Springs.
He was born on April 2, 1944, in Springfield, to the late Albert and Elda Dolwick Botkin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly M. Geyer Botkin.
He is survived by his children, Christa (Martin) McComas, Heather (Tony) Booher, Brian (Tammi) Botkin, James Carroll, Amber (Harold) Longs, Nesa (Eddie) Carroll-Updike and Stephanie (Matthew) Glass; and 18 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 E. 5th St., Marysville.
