Jo Anne Carpenter, 89, of Ostrander, died Tuesday night, Oct. 31, 2017, at Ohio Living Sarah Moore in Delaware.
She was a stay-at-home mother who was a very loving and caring person. She was a 4H advisor, and involved with her children in the Girl Scouts and Brownies when they were growing up. She enjoyed making ceramics, tending to her flower gardens and bowling.
She was born on June 7, 1928, in Groveport, to the late Joseph L. and Alice C. Weiber Weigand. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Carpenter, a World War II veteran whom she married on April 8, 1944, and who died April 13, 1989.
She is survived by her children, Joyce A. Carpenter, Jack M. (Debbie) Carpenter and Joe L. (Carol) Carpenter, all of Marysville, Jo Anne “Josie” (Ronnie) Jones of Delaware, James E. (Joyce) Carpenter of Ostrander, Jerry A. (Mary) Carpenter of Irwin and John W. (Donna) Carpenter of Hilliard; grandchildren, Jo Anne “Missy” and Kristina; 15 other grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ingram Funeral Home. Deacon David Bezusko will officiate funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marysville. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
