John R. “J.R.” Lynch, 47, of Marysville, died after a long, courageous battle with Crohn’s Disease Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at the Ohio State University (OSU) Medical Center.
He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Marysville. He belonged to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. He was a 1989 graduate of Northland High School and a 2008 graduate of DeVry University.
He worked in the IT department at Nationwide Insurance for 23 years. He enjoyed the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed anything that involved the military, Navy Seals, SWAT teams, playing cards and Star Wars.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1970, in Columbus, to Vicci P. (Richardson) Lynch and the late Richard “Dick” Lynch. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Midge Richardson.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Becky (Reed) Lynch; daughters, Anna and Sara Lynch; aunt, Debi Richardson; uncle, Johnny (Meg) Richardson; mother-in-law, Molly (John) Orwick; father-in-law, Dale Reed; sister-in-law, Susie (Brian) Kocsis; brother-in-law, Jason (Stephanie) Reed; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 12809 Route 736, Marysville. The Rev. Jack Heino will officiate a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the church.
