Lena Ellen (Tomlin) Organ, 90, of North Lewisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at Memorial Gables in Marysville.
She retired from Bellefontaine High School as a cook. She was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church (UMC). She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, but most of all, she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1927, in Kent, to the late Stella Marie (Millington) and John Leroy Tomlin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Ellsworth Organ; son, George Robert Organ; sisters, Virginia Davis and Phyllis Clark; and brother, John Tomlin.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (James) Craig and James Dale Organ; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; brothers, Charles (Doris) Tomlin and Paul (Patty) Tomlin; and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Rick Riggs will officiate funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Middleburg UMC, 11824 Route 287, Middleburg. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in North Lewisburg. Services are entrusted to Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home in North Lewisburg.
