Marguerite E. “Peggy” Petitti Titko, 93, of Marysville, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living surrounded by her loving family.
She retired from the Columbus City Treasurer’s Office in 1983 after serving there for more than 25 years. She was also a former clerk with the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Columbus.
She grew up in the Franklinton area of Columbus, attended Central High School and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She and her husband, Steve, raised their family in the Hilltop area and later moved to Marysville to be among a rural community, of which they appreciated greatly.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville, where she participated in prayer groups and many church activities. She was a member of Windsor and Community Seniors and the Windsor Singers.
As the family matriarch, she cherished holiday family gatherings and was celebrated for her cooking and Italian specialties. Above all, she was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1924, in Columbus, to the late Leonard and Mary Pettiti. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Steve A. Titko Jr., who died in 1996; four sisters; and a brother.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Rochelle) Titko of Marysville, Regina Davis of Columbus and Stephanie (Charles) Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Underwood Funeral Home Friday. The Rev. Kevin Kavanagh will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Cards will be available at the funeral home and church.
