Mary Louise Coleman, 89, of Marysville, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2018, at Memorial Gables after months of failing health.
She retired after 31 years from the Union County Auditor’s Office, where she was deputy auditor. She graduated from Marseilles High School in 1946 and Bliss College in Columbus in 1948. She was a member of the Mayflower Circle of King’s Daughters for 60 years. She attended Marseilles United Methodist Church in Marseilles before moving to Marysville. Along with her husband, she traveled to 49 states. Unfortunately, she never made it to Alaska.
She was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Harpster, to the late Burton and Laura Parker Trautwein. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben M. Coleman, whom she married Aug. 28, 1955, at Marseilles United Methodist Church, and who died Feb. 22, 2002; brother, Glenn Trautwein; and niece, Janet Hoskins.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Ruby Trautwein of Upper Sandusky and Joann Hodges of Marysville; nieces and nephew, Sue Rice, Duane Hodges and Christy Delewese, all of Marysville, Joyce King of Upper Sandusky, Linda Monroe of Athens, Maxine Boyd of Canton and Jerri Shuman of Michigan; and very good friends, Rachael and Rick Miller and Howard “Stan,” David, Tim and Phil Stanton.
The Rev. Linda Meredith will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
