Norma E. Scheiderer Burns, 92, formerly of Milford Center, died Thursday morning, Jan. 25, 2018, at Memorial Gables.
A loving and giving mother, grandmother and wife, she, with her husband, Martin, raised her children on the family farm near Milford Center. She was known for her abilities in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. A longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, she was a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and held various positions in the church through her life.
She was born May 14, 1925, at the family home, to the late Carl and Rosa Burns Scheiderer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Burns, whom she married on April 6, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and who died Feb. 18, 2001; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Pamela Burns; siblings and in-laws, Harry and Frances Scheiderer, Roy and Burdetta Scheiderer, Edgar Scheiderer, Frieda and Herman Nicol, Helen and Harry Evans and Lorna Scheiderer; and other in-laws, Richard and Betty Burns, Dean Burns, Ted Kaltenbach and Truman Nicol.
She is survived by her children, Danny L. Burns and Susan K. (John) Eickhoff, both of Milford Center, Gary M. (Mary) Burns of Irwin and Sally A. (Kurt) Eischer of Bridgeport, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Cathy Burns of Plain City; grandchildren, Matthew (Karen) Burns, Joshua (Kellie) Burns, Stacey (Kevin) Scheiderer, Stephanie (Weiant) Williams, Laura (Tom) Thompson, Jenny (Chris) Burns, Meredith (Rick) Queen, Ashley (Lennie) Camboni, Cory (Michael) Thrush, Trevor (Michelle) Burns, Tanner (Kelly) Burns, Bailey (Nic) McDowell, Zachary (Niki) Eickhoff, Jared (Michelle) Eickhoff, Jacob (Julia) Eickhoff, Seth and Caleb Eickhoff, Ruth (Jason) Guy and Claire Eischer; sister, Gertrude (Ludlow) Nicol; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Scheiderer, Evelyn (Ed) Fladt and Dorothy Nicol; and brother-in-law, Harold (Viola) Burns.
Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Schlueter will officiate funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Church Building Fund, Loving Caring Hospice or the Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
