Regi E. Cox, 65, of Marysville, died Thursday morning, Jan. 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.
A guy with a great sense of humor and strong-willed boldness, he persevered through life’s many adversities with a positive “cowboy up” attitude. He was retired from Honda of America after 25 years of service with perfect attendance.
In his earlier years, he held memberships in the Ohio and American Paint Horse associations and later was a part of the AWRA Water Race Association. He enjoyed the many friendships he developed in the dog racing world and the people he and his wife met while camping. His greatest joys, however, came from attending and supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities.
He was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Kenton, to the late Paul and Phyllis Stokes Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sandra L. Knisley, whom he married Oct. 23, 1970, in London, and who died Oct. 10, 2012.
He is survived by his daughters, Nici L. (R.J.) Crosby and Angie L. (Wylie Seely) Cox, both of Marysville; grandchildren, Jakob, Jordon (Miranda), Jarrett “Regi,” Reagan, Blake and Kaelyn; sister, Roxie Snyder of Findlay; niece, Staci (Brian) Flynn of Euclid; aunts, uncles and cousins; and his many dear and devoted friends with the Water Race Association.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the American Legion from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Ingram Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Loving Care Hospice or the Union County Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.ingramfuneralservice.com.
