Rena Pearl Bingman, 95, formerly of McConnelsville, died Dec. 2, 2017, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
She graduated from M&M High School in 1939 and retired after working for more than 30 years as a bookkeeper for the Morgan County Herald and her family business, McConnelsville Tire Shop. During World War II, she was an assistant executive secretary for the American Red Cross in Muskingum County.
She was a member of Seventh Street Church of Christ and taught many Bible classes through the years. She attended Dublin Powell Church of Christ. She was a charter member of Alpha CCL. She volunteered at Genesis Health and Rehab for several years.
She was born on April 8, 1922, in Deerfield Township, Morgan County, to the late Perley W. and Rose Taylor Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Ralph C. Bingman, who died Dec. 21, 2014; and brothers, Willard Patterson and Lloyd Patterson.
She is survived by her children, Max (Joy) Bingman of Marysville, Bonnie Ford of Dublin and Mark (Kim) Bingman of Maumelle, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville. Evangelists Sam Bartrug and Randy Baker will officiate funeral services Friday at 11 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Deerfield Cemetery. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
