Roy Johnson, 69, of Marysville, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was a 1966 graduate of Dublin High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired mechanic from the City of Dublin. He enjoyed the outdoors and tinkering in his barn. He was an avid hunter and his dogs were part of his family.
He was born June 27, 1948, in Columbus, to Pauline (Caudy) Johnson Morgan and the late Carl S. Johnson. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, John I. Morgan.
He is survived by his significant other of 32 years, Brenda Harmon; children, Christine (Marty) Clark, Jason (April) Johnson and Mathew (Mindy) Johnson; mother, Ruth (Wood) Johnson; significant other’s children, Mark (Melanie) Hansford and Silas (Angela) Carey; grandchildren, Derek, Morgan, EllaGrace, Emmalynn, Sam, Aaron, Jessica, Justin, Kayla and Julia; siblings, Danny (Dollie) Johnson, Carla Baldwin and Amy Jo (John) Hall; nephews, Nick, Jonathan and Christopher; and his “adopt-a-son,” Dan Smith.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Route 161 W.), Plain City. The Rev. Paul Schlueter will officiate a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
