Thomas Conner, 71, of Plain City, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, with his loving family by his side, after a journey with acute myeloid leukemia.
He was raised in Lima and lived all his adult life in Central Ohio. He attended Lima Senior High and the Ohio State University (OSU) with a major in history. He served in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968, and spent a year in Vietnam.
He enjoyed reading, woodworking, cars, racing, sailing and traveling. He served on the Northland Community Council and was a longstanding member of Charity Newsies.
He spent his career in the financial services industry and retired in 2016.
He was born March 13, 1946, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Thomas and Katharyn Conner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan; sisters, Susan (John Dalzell) Lehman and Mary Rose; nephew, Matt (Sarah) Rose; niece, Katie (Joe) Shaffer; brother, Terry Thomas; and beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Columbus. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
