Marysville High School athletic officials are in search of a new girls head basketball coach.
Mindy Eisnaugle, who held the position for the past two years, officially stepped down on Monday.
“Mindy said she wanted to spend more time with her family,” said Monarch athletic director Ryan Walker.
Eisnaugle, who previously was an assistant coach at Jonathan Alder High School, could not be reached for comment.
Eisnaugle’s resignation leaves two local school districts in search of a new girls basketball coach for the 2018-19 school year.
Rachel Weaver resigned last week after two seasons as North Union’s girls hoop boss.
Walker said that the new MHS head coach will ideally bring interscholastic coaching experience to the table.
“Previous experience as a head coach would be great, but you can’t say it’s necessary,” he said. “That’s because you’re not sure what type of applications you are going to receive.
“We would like to hire someone who would plan to stick around for a while and have a plan to build the program over the long term,” he said. “We’re looking for some stability in the position.”
Walker said applications for the position will be accepted until the second or possibly the third week of May.
“We will see what type of applications we receive at that time,” he said. “After that, we will begin the interview process.”
