FHS spikers go to 7-0


The Fairbanks varsity volleyball squad upped its record to 7-0 on Saturday with a 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 15-12 victory over Delaware Christian.
The Lady Panthers missed only one of their 109 serves and tallied 50 points. They also finished with 157 good attacks and 51 kills.
Individual stats were as follows:
-Jenay Kocsis:  32/32 serving, 17 points, 40/44 sets, 28 assists;
-Kaidie Carstensen:  51/56 setting, 14 assists, 26/27 attacks, 15 kills;
-Kasey Carstensen:  24/27 attacks, 13 kills, six blocks;
-Kelsey Thorbahn:  38/45 attacks, 12 kills;
-Mikayla Mansfield:  19/20 serving, eight points, 60/73 passing, 12/15 attacks;
-Abbey Hubbs:  14/14 serving, nine points, 48/45 passing;
-Megan King:  17/21 attacks, six kills, eight blocks.
FHS will host Triad this evening.
Place second
Jonathan Alder’s freshman spikers placed second during the Benjamin Logan tournament.
JA defeated Waynesfield-Goshen and Marion Pleasant during the first two rounds.
Alder lost to Coldwater in two sets to place second.
