Local high school golf squads capture matches


Fairbanks’ boys varsity golf team defeated West Liberty Salem on Thursday, 162-183, at Liberty Hills.
Justin Brackenridge led the Panthers with a 39, followed by Seth Payne-40, Travis Brake-41, Cross Hackathorne-42, Logan Bocsy-43 and Aidan Wilson-45.
The Panthers are 10-1 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
The JV’s also won and Trevin Rausch was match medalist with a-45.
Pioneers win
Jonathan Alder’s boys golf squad beat Bellefontaine, 158-173, on Thursday.
Tyler Hilbert of JA was the medalist with a 37. He was followed by Giuseppe Petrella and Hayden Mitchell-39 and Mychal McKelvey-43.
JVs place fourth
The MHS jayvee girls placed fourth during an OCC meet.
Dublin Jerome B won with a 196, followed by Olentangy Liberty-216, Pickerington North B-225, Marysville B-43 and Dublin Jerome C-245.
Individual scores for Marysville were Kelsey Dye-59, Haley Kirby-60, Eva Mason-62, Madi Wildermuth-62 and Rylee Cavins-67.
Bunsold places second
Marysville’s middle school girls golf team took second, shooting 174, in its tri-match with Olentangy (172) and Gahanna (180).
Cassi Van Dyke of Marysville was medalist on the night with a 51.
