Marysville’s boys track and field team celebrates its first-place finish at Wapakoneta.

The Lady Monarchs of Marysville claimed first place at the Redskins Relay in Wapakoneta Saturday with a team score of 106.
The quartet of Mary Calvert, Haley Cook, Emily Caltrider and Emma Armstrong took first in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:53.
Jenna Rioch, Natalie Hiltscher, Celia Soller and Jacquelyn Witt finished the 4×400 relay in a time of 4:14 to take first place.
The team of Soller, Witt, Leah Hardy and Rioch finished first in the 4×800 relay in a time of 10:24, while the team of Rioch, Caltrider, Soller and Witt took first in the distance medley in a time of 13:07.
The Lady Monarch team of Haley Cook, Armstrong, Katelyn Rabe and Caltrider also finished first in the 4×100 shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:12.
In the remaining events the Lady Monarchs finished as follows:
-4×1600 relay: second, Katherine Krueger, Kayla Michalak, Morgan Forney and Leanne Eichorn, 24:24.
-800-sprint medley: second, Calvert, Armstrong, Caitlin Cotner and Hiltscher, 1:57.
-4×100 relay: fourth, Rabe, Cotner, Carly Kramer and Hiltscher, 54.10.
-Pole vault relay: second, Brynn Rychlik, 9-0, fourth, Calvery, 8-6 and seventh, Witt, 7-6.
– Long jump: third, Calvert, 14-4, sixth, Katie Miller, 13-8 and seventh Cook, 13-7.5.
– Shot put: second, Rhianon Gossett, 32-4.75, 15th, Hiltscher, 26-9.5 and 19th, Leonard, 25-7.
-Discus: fourth, Gossett, 97-1, 13th, Leonard, 73-6 and 17th, Haley Kirby, 67-9.
The Marysville boys’ team also finished in the top spot with an 80-point team score. The Monarch team of Chris Lambert, Ricky Spitznagel, Jarrett Braun and Jacob Ranker finished the 4×400 relay in a time of 3:32 to claim top honors.
Ranker, Blake Angel, Triston Mohler and Spitznagle took first place in the 4×110 shuttle hurdle in a time of 1:03.
The Monarchs finished as follows in the remaining events:
-4×800 relay: second, Hayden Turk, Tyler Marsh, Andrew Snodgrass and Ian Dye, 8:56.
-4×1600 relay: second, Snodgrass, Turk, Riley Karnes and Dye, 19:48.
– 800-sprint medley: third, Deven Slabaugh, Jared Smith, Tristan Karnes and Lambert, 1:41.
-Distance medley: third, Joseph Patterson, Braun, Turk, Dye, 11:30.
-4×200 relay: fourth, Anothny Kessler, Nick Marinelli, Smith, Slabaugh, 1:38.
-4×100 relay: sixth, Jagger Snyder, Ethan Klauda, Smith, Slabaugh, 47.00.
-High Jump: fourth, Logan McSwords, 5-8, fourth, Angel, 5-8, ninth, Kessler, 5-6;
-Pole vault: fourth, Gary Markin, 9-0, Elijah Newland, 9-0, fifth, Caleb Dilsaver, 8-0.

Fairbanks’ runners cruise to first
at Southeastern
After the points were tallied, Fairbanks boys’ track team found itself at the top of the list to win the Southeastern invitational on Saturday with a team score of 127.
Beau Slone was able to claim first place in both the 100 and 200 with respective times of 11.27 and 23.35.
Slone, along with Nate Timmons, Will Cochrane and Zach Stewart took first place in the 2×200 relay with a time of 1:35.
The events and scores are as follows:
-4×800 relay: third, Ben Macklin, Jeremy Ziegler, Alex Adkins, Sam Keller, 9:16.
-4×400 relay: second, Macklin, Adkins, Cochrane and Kyle Craig, 3:44.
-110 hurdles: second, William Findley, 17.04, third, Timmons, 17.88.
-300 hurdles: second Timmons, 43.6, third, Findley, 45.13.
-400 dash: third, Adkins, 55.21.
-3200 run: third, Ziegler, 10:58.
-Shot put: third, Parker Horn, 43-4.75.
-Long Jump: third, Timmons, 19-9.
The Lady Panthers took second place at the invitational with 90 team points, finishing behind Shawnee with 126 points.
Kaidie Carstensen was the only Lady Panther to finish at the top of the podium. She finished first in the 800 run in a time of 2:35.
The remaining Lady Panthers finished are as follows:
-4×800 relay: second, Carstensen, Adeline Fitzwater, Kalor Greve and Kayla Green, 10:56.
-4×200 relay: third, Green, Samantha Adkins, Carstensen and Coree Gifford, 2:02.
-4×400 relay: second, Green, Gifford, Carstensen and Adkins, 4:36.
-1600 run: third, Fitzwater, 5:50.
-3200 run: second, Fitzwater, 12:54, third, Greve 13:23.
The Fairbanks middle track team also competed in the Mechanicsburg Invitational. The boys took first, while the Lady Panthers took fifth.
Kaleb Bosworth broke two school records. He placed first in the 400 with a time of 54.43 and broke his own long jump record with a jump of 19-4.
Also placing first was the 4×200 relay team of J. Green, T. Green, N. Combs and N. Rausch and the 4×400 relay team of C. Wenger, J. Green, Z, Pickelsimer, and D, Tobe.
Monarch lacrosse split decisions
The Marysville boys’ lacrosse team was able to keep the game tight against Sylvania Southview during the first quarter of action, but eventually fell 13-8.
Marysville was able to find the back of the net twice during the opening stanza, while Sylvania netted three.
However, a solid push by Southview during the second period gave them a substantial 8-3 lead by halftime.
The Monarchs struggled to find goals during the third period, only netting one.
MHS tallied four goals during the final quarter.
The loss puts Marysville’s record at 4-6 on the season. The Monarchs will return to the field Tuesday when they take on Pickerington North.
In Lady Monarch action, Marysville came away with a close 8-7 varsity victory over Westerville South.
