The Marysville High School boys soccer team traveled to Urbana on Tuesday night for non-conference play.
MHS had little trouble in recording a 9-0 victory.
The Monarchs made their first shot on goal just 20 seconds into the game and were unrelenting the entire 80 minutes.
Max Brennan buried his first of three goals in the back of the net 13 minutes into the game. He also scored with a header in the second half.
Other goals came from Matt Walters, Luke Kudart, Thomas Wolfe, Dylan Musto, Jesse Boomstra and Joey Patterson.
The Monarchs’ defensive line – led by Cole Bautsch, Hunter Lowe, Brett Cingle and Ryan Walters – held the Hillclimbers to only three shots on goal.
Patterson tallied two saves and Wolfe added one late in the second half.
The Monarchs improved to 7-1-5 with the victory.
They will travel to Bishop Watterson on Thursday.
MHS’ jayvees beat the Jr. Hillclimbers, 13-0, during the preliminary game.
Lady Monarchs tie
Marysville’s girls varsity and jayvee teams played Upper Arlington to a 0-0 deadlock in each of their games.
Several players made key impacts in the varsity contest and the Monarchs outshot the Bears 11-6.
Anna Weigand recorded the shutout for the Lady Monarchs (5-5-4).
