The Marysville Lady Monarch volleyball team took fourth place during the Lancaster tournament on Saturday.
Marysville beat Millersport in straight sets 25-21, 25-9 to advance to the winner’s bracket.
Sara Berkland had 11 assists for the match. Lily Keber added four and Madi Bentz finished with two.
Carissa Baker led the Monarchs with six kills. Keber contributed five.
Kaylee Rich and Jazmine Williams combined for an additional seven kills.
MHS battled eventual champion Hilliard Bradley and fell 21-25, 21-25.
Olivia Herzog, Williams and Berkland combined for eight blocks. Keber led the Monarchs with four kills.
Marysville continued to battle, losing to host Lancaster 16-25, 26-28 to earn fourth place in the tournament.
The Monarch hitters combined for 17 kills for the match. Keber had nine assists and Berkland added eight.
Marysville will host Franklin Heights tonight. During this match, the Lady Monarchs will sponsor their NC4K night to honor those who have battled and beat childhood cancer and those who continue to battle the disease.
The Lady Monarchs will be wearing Yellow NC4K shirts as their warm-ups at that time.
