The Marysville High School cross-country teams were third (girls) and fourth (boys) during the Ohio Capital Conference Central Division meets on Saturday.
Competition was held at Hilliard Darby High School and was used as a tune-up for the district meet.
The Lady Monarchs, with 77 points, placed behind Hilliard Davidson (22) and Upper Arlington (53).
Davidson won the boys meet with 24 points, followed by Dublin Coffman-60, Upper Arlington-68 and MHS-99.
Jacquelyn Witt was fourth in the girls race with a time of 19:10. For her effort, Witt earned first-team OCC honors.
Morgan Forney was 11th for Marysville in a time of 19:59. She earned second-team honors in the conference.
Rounding out the girls’ scoring were Katie Krueger, Robin King and Addy Miller-Brown.
“The girls ran a great tune-up race as we put the lineup back together after suffering some nagging injuries,” said coach Luke Sundermeier. “They are strong and ready for the post-season.”
Leading the boys were second-team OCC runners Andrew Snodgrass (11th place, 17:02) and Ian Dye (12th place, 17:09).
Also scoring for the Monarchs were Hayden Turk, Tyler Marsh and Matthew Cox.
“The boys ran a gutsy race and are prepared to attack their pack-running race plan at districts next weekend,” said Sundermeier.
