Dale Benedict would like everyone to “bee loving,” “bee wise” and “bee yourself.”
And the rural Marysville-area resident has written a book urging youngsters to do just that — and more, including to “bee” good, sweet, smart, healthy, nice and thankful.
Benedict has self-published “Miss Moxie The Amazing Honeybee Story,” a tale he felt compelled to write to “enlighten humans about the tremendous amount of good honey bees do for us.”
Miss Moxie is a metaphor for one of the several million honeybees that live in the 30-some hives Benedict has located in Union, Logan and Champaign counties. He said her creation came to him after he “had a brainstorming session with myself.”
