Early morning fire

The showroom at Hardin Motors received “extensive damage,” the result of an early morning fire Tuesday that apparently started in a storage area of the adjacent convenience store, according to Southeast Hardin/Northwest Union Joint Fire Department Chief Charles Mowrey. He said the fire began about 1:53 a.m. at the area located on Route 31, in Mt. Victory. Mowrey said it took about three hours to extinguish the fire. The Plaza Inn restaurant opened for business at 7 a.m. It sustained some smoke damage. The convenience store is likely totaled, Mowrey said.
