Requirements for estimates for fall and winter services were determined at the Monday night Unionville Center Village Council meeting.
Sealed estimates for leaf pickup can be given to Mayor Denver Thompson or brought to the Oct. 12 meeting. Estimates should be for the total rate of leaf pickup during the week of Nov. 16-20. All estimates must be accompanied by proof of insurance.
Residents must have leaves raked to the edge of the streets or alleys by Nov. 16. Residents are reminded that it is against Ohio EPA regulations to burn leaves within the village corporation limit.
Snow removal estimates also will be opened at the October meeting. Estimates should be for an hourly rate for snow removal, with salt applied to intersections only. All estimates must be accompanied by proof of insurance.
A resolution to accept the estimate for rates and amounts for 2010 as determined by the Union County Budget Committee was passed. The estimated amount of revenue generated from the 2.9-mill property tax levy is $6,738.19. The estimated amount of revenue generated from the allowable 1-mill inside property tax levy is $2,577.56. The total estimated receipt from all levies is $9,315.75. The current 2.9-mill levy expires in 2011.
