Former FHS sports standout will be inducted into ONU HOF

She was a three-sport standout at Fairbanks High School who went on to have a solid volleyball career at Ohio Northern University.
Now, Mary (Bouic) Schmidt will be honored by her alma mater during Homecoming festivities this weekend.
Schmidt, who earned a degree in pharmacy from ONU in 1994, will be inducted in the Ada-based school's Hall of Fame. The festivities will coincide with the Polar Bears' 2009 football Homecoming.
Schmidt graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1990 and was a standout athlete in volleyball, basketball and track.
She earned All-Ohio honors in volleyball in 1988 and 1989 and was a member of the state championship 4 x 200 relay team in track.
