Pictured left - Marysville resident Kelly Daum shows football gear worn by New York Giants football players during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The game-worn shoes, gloves, wrist bands, etc., will be sold in a silent auction Sunday. The fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Fund will be held in conjunction with an open house and special program at Epcon Communities’ The Woods at Sugar Run. Daum will be the featured speaker.

A Marysville graduate, a Marysville resident and a former Marysville resident are joining forces to raise money for cancer research this Sunday.
The fundraiser is being spearheaded by Nanette Overly, former Union County resident and wife of former Union County Sheriff John Overly.
Nanette Overly is vice president of sales and marketing for Epcon Communities and is working with a team at Epcon to raise money and awareness this month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
She has been assisted in her efforts by Chase Blackburn, Marysville graduate and New York Giants linebacker, who has collected 29 autographed game-worn pink cleats from fellow Giants players, along with pink gloves, wristbands, a game program, hat and game towel. All of these items will be entered into a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Central Ohio Susan G. Komen fund.
Many people don’t realize it, Nanette Overly said, but the Komen Fund contributes to Union County programs. A good example of that, she said, is the free mammograms that are offered to qualifying individuals.
