The discovery of two .22-caliber shells in a physical education locker this morning resulted in a lockdown at Bunsold Middle School.
The shells were discovered by a teacher, according to Marysville School District Superintendent Larry Zimmerman, who alerted administrators, who then alerted Marysville police.
He said the lockdown was issued at the request of the police, who wanted time to “sort it all out.”
A locker-by-locker search was conducted, but no additional shells were found, Zimmerman said.
He said the shells may have been brought in by a pupil who was hunting.
