Young boy and mother seriously injured

A mother and her young son were seriously injured after a Thursday evening crash. According to the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway patrol, at 4:45 p.m. driver Lillian Adkins, 50, of Richwood was headed west on Route 739 when she apparently lost control of her 2002 Honda Civic. Just past Shertzer Road, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway struck a ditch and rolled three times. The car landed on its hood in the yard of 19550 Route 739. Adkins and her 9-year-old son Brandon were both reportedly ejected and suffered serious injuries. The trooper on the scene said their injuries are not expected to be life-threatening. Two MedFlight helicopters were dispatched to land in a field across the street. Adkins was transported to Grant Medical Center for care. Her son was transported to Children’s Hospital.
