An Ostrander man pleaded not guilty Tuesday for the shooting death of his wife.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that a week after a grand jury indicted him with aggravated murder, Daniel Fry, 40, of 8960 Mills Road entered a plea of “not guilty by reason of insanity.”
On Oct. 24, Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Fry’s home at  8960 Mills Road in Ostrander at 8:07 a.m., where 43-year-old Mary Fry was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Fry was taken into custody after turning himself in to authorities. He was indicted on one count of aggravated murder with firearm specification and one count of tampering with evidence.
“Daniel Fry and his wife got into a verbal disagreement this morning,” Sheriff Walter L. Davis III said at the time. “It ended with Mr. Fry picking up his handgun and shooting Mrs. Fry.”
