End in sight for carny legislation?

City may finally have a plan for dealing with transient workers
Resolution may have finally graced discussions regarding carnival worker legislation.
Members of the Marysville Public Affairs committee met Wednesday at 5 p.m. to focus solely on wrapping up the ongoing issue.
As a result of discussions, committee chair Leah Sellers will propose an amendment to the ordinance during Marysville City Council’s meeting tonight at City Hall, 126 E. Sixth St.
The amendments will clarify the length of fairs and carnivals to include anything lasting longer than three consecutive days, or longer than 72 hours — with the intent of legislating the Union County Fair, as opposed to other events in town which pose less of a safety threat to children.
The carnival issue has gone in and out of committee since the summer of 2008. First, because Ohio carnival worker representatives complained they felt singled out by the legislation, then again this year to expand the ordinance to include some other transient workers associated with the Union County Fair.
