Honda announces United Way donation November 16, 2009 at 7:29 am

The donation boosts the local United Way’s campaign effort to 69 percent of this year’s goal. The fundraising efforts of local United Way volunteers have produced 69 percent of the organization’s $900,000 campaign goal to date. Major donation announcements made this week have taken the giving total to $617,667. Honda of America, Mfg. reported a combined associate and corporate pledge of $222,669 to United Way of Union County on Thursday. The money coming to Union County accounts for 25 percent of what United Way hopes to raise locally this year. “This year, more than ever, the support of our top workplace campaigns is critical to our ability to meet the needs of our community,” said Shari Marsh, Executive Director of the United Way of Union County. “Honda and its associates continue a tradition of caring in a time when it would have been easy for them to make their campaign a lower priority project internally. We are grateful that they continue to choose United Way as their way to give back, trusting us to stretch their contributions to make the biggest possible impact.”
