A pair of men, facing unrelated sex crimes, have been arraigned in the Union County Court of Common pleas.
Both Willie Mapp, a former corrections officer at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, and Virgil L. Kirian Jr. have pleaded not guilty and been released.
Mapp, 53, whose last known address is 313 Burgess Ave., in Columbus, is charged with 13 counts of sexual battery, all third-degree felonies. If convicted, Mapp faces as many as 65 years in prison.
Following the hearing, Mapp was released on his own recognizance, though he is limited to travel in Union and Franklin Counties. He is represented by Fredrick D. Benton, Jr.
Kirian, 51, of 548 N. Main St., in Marysville, faces 60 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. Of the charges, 30 are second-degree felonies and 30 are felonies of the fourth degree. If convicted on all charges, Kirian faces as many as 285 years in prison.
