Sporting good store, Mexican restaurant planned
A new sports retail store coming to Marysville is expected to fill the last abandoned building of the once-vacant East Pointe Plaza.
Ground is also being worked in Coleman’s Crossing for the home a future Mexican restaurant.
Representatives from Dunham’s Sports confirmed Wednesday plans to open a new location in the former Big Bear grocery store, the last among empty spaces created after the exodus of businesses from the plaza several years ago.
U.S. Properties Group, Inc. (USPG), a Gahanna-based development company that owns East Pointe Plaza, also confirmed the news.
“The lease has been executed,” said Donn Davids, representing USPG. “We couldn’t be happier to have them. It’s been a long time in the making.”
He said the company is gearing toward a “late spring (or) early summer opening.”
