November election results certified as official
It is official.
Members of the Union County Board of Elections made the Nov. 3 election official Thursday afternoon.
“There was no change in any of the outcomes,” said Karen Murphy, director of the local board of elections.
It also became official there will be no special elections in February. Thursday was the last day to file local questions for a possible Feb. 2 special election.
Elections board officials said a special election would cost between $1,500 and $1,800 per precinct, with the cost going down per precinct, the more precincts included. There are 15 precincts in Marysville, 27 in the Marysville school district and 44 in Union County.
As part of Thursday’s official canvass, the elections board added the approved provisional ballots, along with absentee ballots received after election day, but postmarked before.
Murphy said there were 232 provisional ballots cast on election day — 207 of those ballots were counted. She said an additional six mailed ballots were added to the total.
