MBA program hasn't hit stride November 30, 2009 at 6:03 am

Urbana U. officials aren’t pleased with cross-section of participants Earlier this year, Urbana University began offering a Master of Business Administration program in Marysville. Recently officials from the university met with city and county officials to express some concerns and begin taking steps to address them. “I feel like, while in Troy (where a similar program began after the one in Union County) we are elevating our reciprocal partnership at a level that is really quite remarkable to watch,” said Steve Jones, Urbana University president. “I feel like we have hit a plateau here. I am not satisfied with the numbers we have enrolled in this MBA cohort. I would like to see greater engagement with the community, with the county commissioners and others, not entirely for our own self-serving benefit but for the community at large.” Jones said the current class, Urbana University’s first in Marysville, has eight members — six from Memorial Hospital of Union County.
