Sixth St. The proceeds raised from the event will help benefit the Union County Care Train. –––– Twice a year employees at Cardinal Health turn away from their computers and pick up their instruments. Equipped with oboes, violins, bassoons and more, the Dublin-based workers come together to form the Cardinal Health Orchestra. With 60 musicians and approximately 40 choir members making up the orchestra, the effort that goes into creating their art is akin to a balancing act. By day some members sit behind desks as program analysts, accountants and programmers, or they may work in the medical field. At night, or during lunch breaks, they create an entirely different working environment, often taking their performances on regional charity tours during the holidays and again during the summer. For conductor Ron Reich, the transformation between the two roles of employee and musician has been a unique experience, with performances raising approximately $100,000 over the past few years for worthwhile organizations.
