Local churches announce Christmas services December 21, 2009 at 6:47 am

First Presbyterian Church will once again host a community rendition of George Fredrick Handel’s “Messiah.” The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the church at Court and Fifth streets. First Presbyterian will hold a Christmas Eve service Thursday at 7 p.m. A second candlelight service will follow at 11 p.m. Allen Center Baptist Church will hold a Christmas Eve service Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Best Christmas Present Ever” will be presented at Byhalia Evangelical Friends Church Sunday at 10:30 a.m. by the youth and two special adults. The Christian Assembly Church Choir will present the Christmas musical “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” Sunday at 10:30 a.m. First English Lutheran Church, 687 London Ave., will present “Scrooge in Bethlehem” Sunday at 3 p.m. First Congregational United Church of Christ, 124 W. Sixth St., will hold a family service of worship Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. The service will retell the story of Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus by re-enacting the events of the night of Jesus’ birth with a “pick-up” pageant. Marysville First United Methodist Church, 207 S. Court St., will hold several Christmas Eve services on Thursday. Marysville Grace will hold Christmas Eve services at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Thursday at Navin Elementary, 16265 County Home Road. Cookies and the Christmas story will be part of the traditional family services. Ostrander United Methodist Church, 166 W. North St., Ostrander, will hold a Christmas Eve service Thursday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Pam Connolly will lead a traditional service of carols and candles with an outdoor living nativity to follow, featuring a local camel and donkey. St. John’s Lutheran Church, 12809 Route 736, will hold Christmas Eve services on Thursday. Trinity Lutheran Church, 311 E. Sixth St., will hold several services on Thursday, Christmas Eve. Unionville Center United Methodist Church, 127 Main St., Unionville Center, will hold a Christmas Eve service Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Vineyard Church of Marysville, 913 W. Fifth St., will hold a Christmas Eve service Thursday at 7 p.m.
