Pictured left - Bo Johnstone, who is dressed in an early 1900s United States army uniform, is pictured with some of his vintage baseball memorabilia. Johnstone will be active in this weekend’s Chautauqua historical event in Marysville. The Ohio Village Muffins will also play a vintage baseball game at Mill Valley Park South on Saturday. –––– Although there won’t be any local players to provide the opposition, the Ohio Village Muffins vintage baseball team is still coming to Marysville. They will play an exhibition game at Mill Valley Park South at 1:30 p.m. Saturday during the Ohio Chautauqua event. The Muffins are an educational arm of the Ohio Historical Society. Fans will watch a gentleman’s game of the mid 1800’s and players will circulate among them to talk about the sport from that era. Bo Johnstone, who was involved in vintage baseball for a number of years, attempted to organize a team to play against the Muffins. An item in the Journal-Tribune and a subsequent meeting held by Johnstone, however, failed to attract any players.
