FFA Members Attend National Convention

Members of the Fairbanks High School FFA and their advisors recently attended the 82nd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Those attending were, front row, from left, advisor Jody Carney,  Kacey Huffman, Abby Mayer, Danielle Burns and Josh Rausch; and back row, Hal Jackson, Jakob Wilson, Jared Smith, Cole Ledley and Jake Detwiler. On the way to the convention, members had the opportunity to stop in Chicago, to tour Willis Tower and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. The next stop included a visit to Moline, Ill., where they toured the John Deere Seeding Plant. Members returned to Indianapolis to participate in the National FFA Convention by listening to keynote speakers Mike Rowe and Harvey Alston, attended the career show and other various leadership sessions. The convention wrapped up with the American Degree ceremony, where chapter members Kristin Burns and Daniel Nicol received the distinguished honor.
