Tryouts slated
Tryouts for the 2010 Union County Thunder 14U travel baseball team will be held at the Magnetic Springs baseball complex on Sunday Aug. 2 and on Aug. 9. at 4 p.m.

QB Club meeting slated
The next meeting of the Monarch Quarterback Club will be on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held at Marysville High School.

Jr. football evaluations planned
The Union County Junior Football League (UCJFL) will hold its 2009 season player evaluations on July 11, 12 and 18 at Lewis Field in Marysville.
All Instructional, Division I and Division II players are asked to attend.
Players will conduct a series of drills in front of coaches to determine their skill for team assignments. Any athlete that has not signed up to play in the league may do so at this time.

HOJGA makes fifth stop
The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association (HOJGA) made its fifth stop on the 2009 summer tour at River Oaks in Bucyrus on Wednesday.
Three local golfers competed in the event, one in each age group.
One of only two girls in the field, Tonya Wright placed 14th in the 16-18 division with a 98. The winner was Ryan Courtright from Upper Sandusky with a one under par 71.
