Cruisers use speed to top Monarchs September 08, 2009 at 6:52 am

The Monarchs fell, 55-34. –––– Track and field enthusiasts know that coming out of the blocks means everything in a sprint. You spot a speedster a step and you generally lose the contest. Friday night, Marysville spotted a speedster half of the racetrack. Marysville scored 34 points in the second half and was still never in the game after an exceptionally fast Groveport-Madison team raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 55-34 win. When asked how the Cruisers rolled up 55 points in the contest, MHS coach Jeff Gafford was blunt. “First of all they’re very good,” Gafford said. “They’ve got some guys who can scoot.”
