The Jaguars defeated FHS in three games. –––– Within the course of three days, Hilliard Bradley’s varsity volleyball team made it a clean sweep of Union County. On Saturday, the first-year Jaguars toppled Marysville and North Union during triangular action on the MHS court. Monday found Bradley taking the Fairbanks Lady Panthers in three games, 25-22, 25-10, 25-14. The match was Bradley’s “Volley for the Cure” event, with proceeds going toward the fight against breast cancer. The Lady Panthers (4-5) expended most of their energy in the first game during an attempt to keep up with the Jags’ solid front line. Most of Bradley’s points came on kills from Ellen Conti, Kelly Dalton and Brandy Dennis. The trio’s height advantage was something the Lady Panthers simply could not overcome. Still, Fairbanks (which will travel to Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday) made a game of it during the first bout. After spotting Bradley four and five-point leads on several occasions, FHS valiantly battled back.
