Panthers defeat Riverside Pirates September 21, 2009 at 7:30 am
Fairbanks evened its record at 2-2 with a 48-21 victory at Riverside on Friday. The Panthers held a 27-0 lead at halftime, thanks in part to a pair of Nick Gibson touchdown runs, a scoring pass from Gibson to Jared Repogle and a TD run by Tyler Smith. Gunner Whitaker scored the Pirates’ first touchdown in the third quarter on a 10-yard pass from Bryce Hodge. Smith scored his second touchdown of the night on a 41-yard run. Ryan Rausch’s extra point sent the Panthers (who will host Lima Perry on Friday) into the final quarter with a 34-7 lead.
