Union County is the home of two conference golf champions after league tournaments were held on Wednesday.
Fairbanks’ boys won their fourth straight Northwest Central Conference tournament title, while Marysville’s girls wrapped up the Ohio Capital Conference Capital crown.
The Panthers shot a 322 to outdistance Waynesfield-325, Upper Scioto Valley-326, Lima Perry-352, Riverside-360 and Ridgemont-380.
Nick Koehn tied for third with a 79, followed by Chris Grady (T-4, 80), Adam Mapes (T-5, 81), Jeremy Noland (T-6, 82), Alec Koehn (88) and Matthew Ferryman (89).
“The course (at Prairie View) was flat and the wind picked up,” said FHS coach Larry Morris. “If the wind hadn’t have picked up, I think a lot of scores would have been better.”
The Panthers trailed by a handful of strokes at the turn but many team scores jumped throughout the back nine.
